AshMap ("we," "us," or "our") operates the AshMap mobile application and website at ash-map.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
By using AshMap, you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy.
Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and any name you provide. Authentication is handled by Clerk (clerk.com). We do not store your password — it is managed entirely by Clerk.
Location Data. With your permission, we collect your approximate device location to find cigar shops near you. Location is used only to power search results and is not stored on our servers beyond the duration of a single search request.
Usage Data. We collect information about how you use the app — screens visited, searches performed, and features tapped. This data is collected anonymously using a device-level identifier and is used to improve the app. It is never tied to your identity.
Saved Lists & Humidor. Content you save — shops, cigars, visits — is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage and is not transmitted to our servers. If you uninstall the app, this data is deleted.
Subscription & Payment. In-app subscriptions on iOS are processed by Apple and managed via RevenueCat. We do not collect or store your payment card information. Stripe handles web subscriptions; we receive only a customer ID and subscription status, not card details.
Check-ins. When you check in at a shop, we record an anonymous count associated with the shop. No personal information is stored with a check-in.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
AshMap is intended for adults 21 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. The app includes a date-of-birth age gate on first launch. If we learn that a user is under 21, we will delete their account and associated data.

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. Deletion permanently removes your account and associated server-side data within 30 days.
Anonymous usage analytics are retained for up to 12 months before being purged.

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit and access controls on our database. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. To submit a request, email privacy@ash-map.com.
