The Flying Pig is a stubby perfecto, typically 4.5–4.75 inches long with a massive 60-ring gauge. That fat body means a high filler-to-wrapper ratio, which shifts the blend’s expression toward the core tobaccos—earth, cocoa, and pepper often dominate—while the wrapper’s nuance recedes. The draw is naturally open at 60 ring, but the tapered, closed foot and pointed cap create a bottleneck: the first few puffs are tight and concentrated, forcing you to work for smoke and delivering a burst of flavor as the ember widens. Once past the taper, the burn line expands to full diameter, and the short length keeps the smoke relatively cool—there’s less distance for heat to travel, so the final third doesn’t scorch as aggressively as a longer Toro would.
